But while performing these functions, the role of police has ever remained controversial. It has been witnessed the world-over that police are more used to abuse the powers vested in them. Still people are expecting that police organization should be “people friendly police”. There should be Involvement of people in the operational work of police. It is called as community policing. It keeps them at the centre stage.
