The depression led to suicidal thoughts and a suicidal attempt, which is when he heard God calling Him back to his faith and belief in Christ. This book shows the reader that they do not need to let depression and suicidal thoughts control them, that there is a way out that can be found in faith in Christ. Thomas's faith has grown so much that in the last poems in this book, the reader can see a different side opposite from depression and suicidal thoughts, love and positivity will fill the dark holes in the reader’s life. The last poem of the book H.O.P.E, is based off the name of Thomas's goal of creating an Equestrian veteran & youth center/camp someday.
