Corky Nikita Book PDF Summary

Nikita is a beautiful blue parakeet who decides one day to escape her pet store cage and find an owner who will appreciate her sweet songs and friendship. As she soars high in the air, she soon feels a strong pull toward a house below her. After she makes a surprising landing in the homes fountain, Nikita hears the sound of someone crying in an upstairs bedroom. It is there that she finds Corky, a five-year-old boy who needs a friend more than anything. When Corky notices Nikita at his window, she begins singing to him. The two soon become inseparable playmates until Corky begins his first year of school and begins to ignore Nikita. As he makes new friends, Nikita escapes her cage and flies away, leaving Corky devastated and wondering if she will ever return. In this charming childrens book, a pet parakeet rescues a boy from lonesomeness and teaches him a valuable lesson about friendship.
